Lahore:  Lahore Metro Bus Service inaugurated by former PM and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz chief Nawaz Sharif today.

Diplomats of various countries attended inauguration ceremony including a high-level Turkish delegation, headed by deputy prime minister of Turkey.

Metro bus service project costs Rs30 billion, according to the Punjab government and completed in record time of almost one year.

The 27-kilometer long journey from Gajjumata to Shahdara, which took two hours earlier, would now take 55 minutes because of the new bus service.

A modern e-ticketing system has introduced for the bus project, which would have special reserved seats for women and the disabled peoples.

Metro bus service is free for the first month for general public.
