
Lahore: Chief Minister Punjab Mian Shahbaz Sharif has announced to gave 2 lacs solar lamps to students in Punjab under Chief Minister Ujala Programme.
Shahbaz Sharif Said that the worst energy crisis has made acquisition of knowledge extremely difficult for the students and due to severe energy crisis in Pakistan, education sector are getting badly impacted. He said the students are facing a lot of difficulty and problems in acquiring education, due to power outages.
Solar lamps will be distributed among the Punjab’s students of Matric and Intermediate throughout the province on purely merit basis.
Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif was presiding a high-level meeting held in connection with the “Chief Minister Ujala Programme”, at Model Town.
Shahbaz Shareef has said while Punjab government is implementing alternative energy projects, to overcome energy shortage, “Ujala Programme” is also being initiated to enable the students to continue their academic activities, under which free-of-cost solar lamps, would be distributed among girl and boy students.
CM Punjab directed to also review the possibility of providing solar lamps to the students of religious institutions.
